I applied this product on the 2018 iPad 6th generation. Makes the screen more paper-like, reduces fingerprints, reduces/diffuses glare. All is well. The product keeps what it promises in this department. Absolutely destroys your screen resolution. The perceived resolution changes from 1440p to 720p or worse. Visually extremely blurry, like running at low resolution on a high pixel density display. My problem is NOT the rainbow effect but the physical texture of the plastic. I put on a protective film, used it for five minutes and immediately removed it due to poor screen sharpness. Image sharpness decreases with increasing viewing angle, using the tablet on the table in front of me was noticeably worse than using it on my lap and pointing directly at my face due to the very narrow viewing angle (20 degrees). I stress. This is because I honestly don't think the type of product (matte screen protectors) recommended by many can be that harmful to the user. I was under the impression that the flaws would be minor, but that's not the case. My use case is 70% note taking, 20% digital art, and 10% word processing - no media usage, and I still find it unacceptable. Just get used to writing and drawing on glass, it's not that hard. Or at least try to see it in person and see if you can overcome the above shortcomings.
