This printer was working fine until recently I started getting notifications of damaged cartridges and it refused to accept the non-genuine and refilled cartridges which I have used successfully for the past 3 years. An internet search revealed that in 2016 HP implemented a firmware "fix" that caused all ink cartridges other than the expensive ones to not work in the printer. Interestingly, the problem on my machine only started 3 weeks ago (weird, maybe it's an HP trojan?). After spending several hours investigating the issue and making numerous attempts to fix the reboot, including the HP claimed firmware boot fix (which was so well disguised that I was never able to find and boot it) , the machine completely stopped working. People like me who are trying to save a few bucks by avoiding outrageously expensive ink probably only make up a few percent of their customer base, but they clearly intend to make everyone 'pay' one way or another! After purchasing 3 HP printers, 2 HP laptops and an HP desktop over the years, HP has managed to lose me as a customer forever with their penny pound fool printer ink business model! Today the printer goes in the trash and I'm selling my inventory to HP!. and I'm pretty sure HP doesn't give a damn!
