According to the description of this product, there are three modes: OFF, ON and AUTO, but there is not really detailed information about what exactly these three modes do. OFF is always off. ON always lights up - despite the light sensor, even in daylight. AUTO works like this: When it gets dark enough, the motion sensor determines whether the light should come on. The light only stays on for a minute and then turns off again until new motion is detected. If the ambient light in the room is bright enough, the motion sensor is ignored and the light stays off. This device is great for my needs, but if you want this light to always turn on when there's movement in the room, or always turn it on at night and turn it off during the day, or control the length of time the light stays on, you'll have to look elsewhere.
