Strong smell and too short for my bassinet

Let me just say I didn't measure my bassinet so I have to send it back because it's too small. BUT ALSO send it back because it smells strong when you open the bag. It almost smells like paint or solvent, I don't know, but it's strong. In my opinion, something organic doesn't have to smell like that. However, it is very soft and it seems that the child will sleep very comfortably.
