Review on Enhance Your Space with Kenroy Home 20506ORB Spot Accent Lamps in Oil Rubbed Bronze Finish by Roy Reeves

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Kenroy Home Orb not exactly a spotlight

This is a small sphere (approximately 4" in diameter) with one open side and a medium sized ceramic socket in the hole. Baffle (something that looks like a step) around the opening as you would see on most can lanterns, the purpose of which I believe is to reduce glare. The ball is separate from the base and connected only by a power cord that runs from the ball through the base. The base is a bent sheet of thin metal (steel I think) with a hole cut in it. There is a rubber insert in the hole to separate the base metal from the metal of the sphere. achieved by freely rotating the ball in the hole as you desire. The only limitation is the string between the ball and the base. I'm pretty sure any combination is possible, so it should work for any place where you need to shine somewhere else. .Everything looks very solid and well designed. Looks very beautiful and nice. In most cases, it doesn't seem out of place. If you look at brushed stainless steel, the picture shows it with a lightbulb. A medium-base bulb sticks out so that the end of the bulb is roughly flush with the rim of the hole in the sphere. When using ccfl on a medium base, its tip protrudes beyond the ball. This results in a very wide "point light" that is almost 180 degrees. This is way too wide a light pattern for my purposes and I wasn't expecting it at all. Aside from not being a "smudge" to me, it's a pretty cool little light. I plan on keeping it and trying it out somewhere because it's pretty slick.
