I bought this pair of pads (large) to replace the pad with a cooling gel pad that has become stiff and hard over time. After almost 4 months I found this product to be a little disappointing in terms of sleep. I'll talk about that soon. Pros: + Very soft and airy. + Quite cool even on warm nights, even with a protective film on the pillow. + The build quality is really good; no protruding threads or stray filler seeping through. It looks and feels premium.+ The size is long enough to be used lengthwise when you recline to read a book or watch TV. Cons: - Not enough padding. This is the biggest problem I've encountered. Due to the lack of filling, the filling quickly compresses laterally, leaving the center of the pillow almost as flat as the mattress underneath. The ends create an awkward play as the filling shifts towards the middle during the night and some feel like sleeping on the edge of the bed. Also, due to the way the padding shifts, you either have to use a second pillow directly underneath or fold it down to keep it at the optimum pillow height/level. and sew a good 7 inch pillow to have some consistency in the distribution of the filler; enough to wrap my head properly but not enough to flatten out in the middle. Unfortunately, this leaves me with a pillow that is only slightly longer than a queen-size pillow, and if I wanted a queen-size pillow I would just buy one instead (although I'm afraid I'll end up queen-size). pillows sewn instead of full-size pillows). Can they be used? Definitive. Quality was great, cooling was as advertised and a relative liked the replacement I gave them. Was that what I was hoping for? Unfortunately there aren't any. My search for the right pillow continues. In the meantime, the modded one gets the job done, although the extra cost of modifying one of them means it wasn't worth the money I spent on it.
