This product is amazing, for full disclosure I use both balm and also skin conditioners (in various situations). Both products rejuvenate the skin incredibly well, both smell great, both have extremely high quality ingredients and both are delivered without incident or flaws. Time. The main thing is to follow their instructions. Wipe away the dust/dirt (who needs a dirt conditioner?) and apply in small circular motions, slow enough to avoid creating friction. the goal is hydration, not abrasion. The conditioner causes a really slight darkening of the skin (which is only temporary in my experience). the balm will have a more intense effect, but both are very comfortable for me. lots of abuse (salve seems to have a lot more carnauba wax in it, so seems to protect better. I choose a salve when the skin has something of a light nap (spelling?). Although none of these are recommended for full suede or nubuck I (guess of carnauba wax) Especially ointment is VERY long lasting I won't be going back to any other skincare product It should also be noted that it doesn't leave a sticky finish (like honey for example) I think it's just the best thing in the world.
