He is so cute and happy! The pottery is well made and painted, except for a defect on his hat, but he's not big enough to bother me. It definitely looks like vintage Santa Claus mugs. I was concerned that the mug might be too big, but it's medium sized and perfect for my Keurig's large coffee. I give four stars because it's expensive. He was the last one so I paid $22. I've been looking for a month for one that I like and really wanted one, otherwise I probably wouldn't have paid that price. Luckily I like it so I'm happy with my purchase. Update - Use the stand on wooden surfaces. The clay at the bottom of the mug is not sealed, so it will sweat a little.
