Review on High-Quality XLR Male Plugs πŸ”Œ Connectors - 20 Pack by GLS Audio by Dale Sundet

GLS Audio XLR Connectors

I had to do a double take when I first opened the packaging for these new connectors. They are a Chinese copy of the famous Neutrik brand in form and function, except they aren't that great in terms of fit and finish. They're too bright and shiny compared to Neutrik's slightly matte finish, and they don't snap and pull apart as easily as real ones - they're a bit tighter, too. However, they seem to have done their homework in the functional area. There is a standard "Plug 1 before others" feature (I know of at least one other brand that doesn't follow that standard), and the strain relief clamp works very well (effectively pulls the cable jacket against the pin insert to loosen it). wires inside). I love the simplicity of this design. Unlike other manufacturers, you only have to remember to put the jacket on the cable first - everything else is left at the end, except for the strain relief, which is cut off after soldering to lay the cable. Don't be afraid of tiny screws or metal clips - just four parts (case, pen insert, strain relief and boot). Time will tell if they hold up in the field, but they were cheap enough to try. This review includes both plugs and sockets of this type and brand. The GLS TRS connectors are also very good. I would definitely consider the GLS for all but the main audio jacks.
