Buyer Warning. fits computer accessories and peripherals

When you need a personal light source, take the ten dollars you would pay for it and burn it instead. This way you get more useful light. The packaging of this item shows how versatile it is. The device was mounted under a plastic cover on a plain white card, with no name, model, barcode, part number, or any identification other than a "Made in China" sticker. The light is controlled via a touch control button. on the back of a hue that toggles between off, dimmed, medium and bright modes. The touch controls aren't sensitive enough to activate the light with a tap, and hitting the actual target area can be frustrating. In order to continuously work with the touch controls, I had to hold the lamp as if I was clamping it or wrap my whole hand around the back of the lampshade. This often required enough force to bend the lightstick into a new position. Over time, I've learned to activate the touch control system almost constantly. Please note that the lamp consumes electricity and remains visibly warm even when switched off. I assume this is to keep the touch control system active. Within a day of purchase, the plastic cover covering the circuit board at the base of the LED strip on the underside of the lamp just fell off. It could not be put back on the board as it would fall off again. However, this did not affect the use of light. Exactly two months after purchase, the light spontaneously failed: it was very weak (even at maximum power) or flickered and flashed unevenly. Even when not flickering and on the brightest setting, the light was too dim to use, even in a dark room. For this review I bent the light into a U shape to fit the entire unit in the photo frame to show the bare circuit board. However, this bend was enough to break off the matte plastic covering over the LEDs themselves. I like the length and shape of the block and found it useful when it worked. I definitely needed something that long instead of those short USB lights that are used to light up computer keyboards. Too bad it's nonsense.
