I am a K-8 gym teacher and needed a softball that was safe for indoor use. I needed a ball the size of a soft ball, dense for a good hit, but styrofoam for safety in case the string hits a student's face or a window. The diameter is perfect. The foam is dense for a very good hit. Soft enough for easy fishing. Great training tool for softball teams. Unfortunately, it's still too hard and can cause a lot of pain if slapped in the face.
