This is exactly what I needed and it worked right out of the box. At one point I saw a comment that indicated problems with the solder joints inside, so I opened up both units we bought to check the connections. Everything looked fine and worked reliably for about six months. My only concern is the size of the wiring inside the box. I think it's a bit small. Due to cable length and load rating, I used 12 gauge cable for our setup. However, the internal wiring of this unit appears to be 16 gauge. Therefore, consider the potential impact on your installation if your cables are larger. We're using them as a short-term fix until we have our remaining amp driving both sets of speakers until we have the funds to replace the one that failed. amp and we don't usually run our system at full capacity. So we don't have to worry about the implications of a smaller cable.
