These caps are very smooth on both sides and hold the hair well. However, there is no elastic around the hat and to keep it on my tiny head and prevent the hair from falling out from underneath I have to wrap the tail around the head and then lower it back down. Because it was so slippery outside, in the mornings the tails slipped and the hat came off or fell off. But I have a small, oddly shaped head (can't wear those round headbands) so if you have a normal head it will probably fit you.
