I've been wearing them for a few weeks now. There was no ear discoloration. They seem comfortable and I sleep in them. The posts are a little long but they don't bother me when I'm sleeping. The smaller hoops are the ones shown in my ears. The ones missing in the photo of the box are actually in my ears, so. In any case, if you like the color, take it.
