Ratchet straps make much more sense than perforated straps. They have a much wider range of adjustment, allowing you to fine-tune your tension for maximum comfort. This particular belt has a really attractive "open" buckle, well detailed and with a durable high gloss finish. It even disguises itself with a fake shank, making it look like a regular buckle. Rathet buckles tend to be heavy, but the open design keeps this to a minimum. The belt is made of leather with a fine texture applied in a cross pattern. The lining is also supposed to be leather, but to me it feels more like vinyl. In any case, it has to withstand a lot of stress. One of the best things about a belt is that you can cut it to your size. It fits any belt size from 28" to 44". You simply loosen the tongue, cut the end of the belt with the buckle to your size, and snap the tongue back into place. Ratchet adjustment to tighten it tight. I love these things and this one gets all 5 stars from me.
