Review on Denso 234 9006 Fuel Ratio Sensor by Kurt Bravo

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Efficient and economical option for P1166/P1167

This sensor replaced a faulty sensor on a 2002 Acura RSX with automatic transmission that was producing codes P1166 and P1167. Please note that the Acura OEM sensor is made by Denso. It's the same as this one, just twice the price. (I've heard that if you order an OEM and open the box, the sensor is simply labeled "Denso". You can go to various major stores and look for shower hooks and you'll find the same design. The stores will label it. Same principle - Denso does it, Acura labels it and overcharges.) I had someone replace the sensor so I can't comment on how easy it was to put it on. and i think they reset the check engine light codes. If they hadn't I would have taken it to one of the local parts stores and disposed of it for free. This is an important thing: after this sensor turned on, the check engine light did not go out. Gas mileage also seems to be steadily increasing by around 2-3mpg, which is about what I lost when the old one failed. In short, it has worked great for the six months it has been installed.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Nothing
