I have ordered two of these flea collars for my cats. Flea collars came in small vacuum bags and their own tins. But the collars smell, not chemically, but slightly of citronella. I was able to put collars on my cats fairly easily. My older cat didn't seem to mind wearing the collar, but my younger cat did. After I put the collar on him he started acting strangely, not like himself. He was acting like he just ate catnip and was high. My daughter took the collar off and we will wait a few days for the smell to dissipate before putting it back on. I will post more later as they only arrived yesterday. Update - the citronella smell from the collars has gone and I was able to use it on my younger cat. The cats tolerated them well, I was very surprised and relieved to know that they have anti-fleas. My cats are indoor cats and we live in an apartment complex. When summer comes, the fleas seem to get out of control here. The collars lasted about 7 months, my cats were actually able to remove the collars themselves and I will never know how they did it. But I saw her crawl under my daughter's bed with the collars on and then come out from under the bed without the collars on.
