First, I like that the buckle can be removed. I've found that magnetic snap straps can be a nightmare for most pants. They can be easily slipped, braided and buckled, ready to use. I also like to stretch. You can get a nice fit by shortening and stretching them a bit to activate the locking mechanism. Finally, as mentioned, they seem to be too big, and I believe that's on purpose, to be cut and melted with whatever flame or method you prefer. With an iron and a cloth or foil it would probably be possible to do a really clean job (not tried, just thought). Time will tell if they hold up. They seem to be well made and I expect years and probably longer from them than most crappy skinny leather straps, if not leather straps that cost a lot more. Probably not for your wedding, but I think it's pretty obvious as a tactical style belt.
