I almost didn't buy these diapers based on reviews saying they are the same as regular diapers BUT as a scientist I remembered that absorbency is created between the layers of fabric. It absorbs liquid, which is why a wet diaper swells and becomes so heavy. So I decided to try them and they are AMAZING! During the day we use pampers and he peed through them (more importantly they reached their full capacity so his pee spilled from the top since he now sleeps on his stomach). He didn't have a single leak with them! I know we only have 4 days but that tells me they are more absorbent than normal without a doubt. So Pampers isn't trying to cheat and rename their regular diapers to night diapers. I'm so glad I bought it and can only recommend it!
