I've been using the Syntech USB-C Thunderbolt Adapter for quite some time without any problems. My current PC doesn't have an SD card port and I was looking for something compact to transfer pictures, videos and music quickly. The product arrived on time, well packaged, no damage. The laptop recognized the adapter quickly and I didn't have to download any special software or hardware drivers. Once connected, any media contained on an SD or Micro SD card can be accessed quickly and simultaneously. I have and have never had CF so I can't speak to those possibilities, but I don't see why it could be any issues. Aside from fast forward and reverse transfer, the real benefit is that all media devices appear as separate drives, making transfers between those devices quick and easy. If you have a PC/Mac with limited ports or need a way to access media on phones and cameras, this adapter from Syntech is for you.
