Cute shoe coating is quickly erased

Bought for my daughter for school. A week later the coating on the boots had worn off. They were badly beaten. In the 3rd week I had to buy her new school shoes. I don't know if my daughter was just being harsh on the shoes or if the shoes were made that way. Also, they didn't last more than 3 weeks with us. The shoes were cute and fit well.
