Very hard material

I don't like the hardness of the plastic. I wanted to use it as a duffel bag for a few things: small water bottle, phone, wallet, keys. And what I don't like is that you can't wear it. The strings are too short and don't sit well in any position due to the plastic. Like plastic was used for sails? I had to buy a mesh jersey bag. This will initially lie unused in the closet.
