I am in my 40s and bought this product to get rid of blackheads on my chin caused by rosacea combined with seborrheic dermatitis. I started with a freshly washed and exfoliated face, then used a warm, damp towel to open the pores. I found the first liquid and paper to be easy to apply. The liquid dries fairly quickly and causes the paper to stick lightly to the skin. If the paper was very wet to begin with, more pieces would come loose, reducing its effectiveness in pulling out blackheads. When I used less liquid and the paper was less soggy, I was able to pull the dried paper better, but I had to stick to a smaller area. Unfortunately all I got was tiny hairs (peach fuzz) which made it look more like a lightweight facial wax product than a pore cleansing product. I have found the paper to be effective as an oil absorbing sheet when used without the liquid from this kit. The paper is very similar to the paper sold by a major cosmetics company through individual independent consultants. Good luck finding the best product for your skin. This set doesn't work for me, but it might work for you.
