This entire power cord, including the two pieces of cord and the transformer box, is about twice the thickness and weight of the original cord that came with my Acer computer. I bought the computer 1 1/2 years ago and have never had a power cord failure on any of the other laptops I have owned over the years. I don't need a long power cord. This was "more than long enough" to both enter and exit the transformer box. I actually had to wrap it around a clip/loops I had installed on the back floor wood of my desk to keep it off the floor, but I don't see that as a problem. This Pwr power cord seems to be something more. stronger than the original and I hope it lasts as long as the computer and I also hope it lasts a few more years. Maybe there's too much hope for all of this.
