I bought this mainly to take to the drive-in cinema. While it certainly isn't as good as a car radio, it does deliver better than average sound for a small portable device. I love that I can charge it via USB, battery like a cell phone so I can even use my external battery that I also use for my phone and Kindle when the battery runs out. When fully charged this radio will last more than double duty plus pause - so around 5 hours of FM stereo. Best of all, I've never had an issue with static, which has been an issue with every larger, more expensive boombox radio I've ever attempted to use in my local theater. I have this model with bluetooth and a slightly cheaper version without bluetooth, otherwise it's the same radio. Spend the extra $4 on Bluetooth so you can listen to music or audiobooks on your phone. it also works great and sounds better than the speaker on my Samsung Galaxy 8. UPDATE: I've had it for almost 2-1/2 years now and use it 1-3 times a week. I just had to change the battery today 4/2/21. Plus, it's still going strong!
