This is incredibly similar to the Aputure version Also the build quality is spot on Everything is packed in a soft pouch The material is not too thin In fact the diffusion fabric they used here gave , with the Aputure Amaran 200D I used with it, very little color cast off. The lantern opens and closes very easily, just press the center of the top of the lantern and make sure the center inner side is against one of the two small latches into place. Folding is just as easy by doing the reverse process. Assembly and disassembly is done in seconds. They even provide you with e available in lighting stand. Surprisingly, these aren't the usual super cheap light stands you usually see bundled with modifiers. This stand was more than strong enough to handle my Amaran 200D with the light attached. I should note that I also had an issue with the one I received and the seller contacted me in less than a day and immediately offered me a replacement. Great customer service means a lot to me and shows that they stand behind their product. A modifier like this is ideal when you want a nice, soft, even light with very few shadows. Imagine two people sitting opposite each other at a table. For example for an interview or a podcast. Just place this modifier high up between two people and you have the perfect lighting setup for the situation.
