Very warm, comfortable coat. Not "midwest winter" warm, but great for a chilly spring or fall evening. I live on the Central Coast of California where the summer nights reach 50 degrees and it's perfect. As other reviewers have said, it's a heavy fabric that feels like a sweatshirt, but doesn't look like a cheap gift shop sweatshirt - it's actually a good quality fabric. I usually wear it unbuttoned, but it has a nice 2-way zipper on the front. Based on the sizing chart, I was hesitating between medium and large, but after reading other reviewers' comments, I settled on the large. He is too big. I returned it for Wednesday without any problems. Also the surrounding area is a bit big but it's not that bad so I think I'll leave it as it is. I could probably be ok with a little for a tighter fit. I'm 5'4 and about 108 lbs. The length is completely about an inch off the ground. Even a small heel keeps him off the ground. Very happy with this purchase.
