Review on πŸ”† Sunco Lighting Dimmable LED Lighting - The Perfect Equivalent by Ryan Person

Not very dimmable

I was quite disappointed with these bulbs. I thought I chose very carefully, diligently read numerous reviews and compared them with reviews of other brands of similar lamps. I installed a quality LED dimmer (Lutron Diva CL 153PH) expecting to solve my very hot traditional 65 watt BR40 in my living room which was struggling with my air conditioning. But no, the dimming range of Sunco lamps was very small. They're certainly bright, which is great if that's what you're after, but dimming them to their lowest would be unacceptable - still fairly bright before flickering or just turning off. I was able to adjust the dimmer range to a point before they start flickering, but no adjustment to the dimmer range was enough to come anywhere close to the quiet nighttime glow we're used to from incandescent bulbs. I should add that the color (advertised as 2700k, warm) was an uncomfortable yellow/white. It didn't create a feeling of warmth - it missed. Then I dared and ordered a set of 6 dimmable BR40 LED lamps from Phillips. They were about $7 more expensive. These Phillips bulbs shine brightly even on the highest setting, but they barely dim or flicker. It was exactly what I was looking for. more natural. I then returned the Sunco bulbs (in Phillips boxes) for a full refund. Lesson learned.
