Review on ๐Ÿ”ฒ Dorman 603-423 Front Engine Coolant Reservoir for Toyota Models: A Reliable White Solution by Richard Cunningham

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good price but not OEM quality. Enough for this aging car.

As many have said it will fit other model years. I used it on a '94 Camry with no fit issues. A few suggestions: 1. If it isn't snug on the spring clamp, consider bending the clamp arms or, as I did, lowering the tank into place, then squeezing the clamp arms together firmly and securing with a zip tie or secure with a screw clamp. 2 . Make sure the pin on the bottom of the tank fits into the rubber bushing. If you don't have enough bushing, replace it at a landfill. The tank moves in place without the bushing.3. Be VERY VERY careful to install the black cover properly. If you reverse the hoses on the cap, after a few weeks all the coolant will spill out onto the floor (don't ask me how I know). For me the correct orientation was with the cover tab facing the front of the car.

Pros
  • Direct replacement - this engine coolant reservoir is the same size and function as the original part
Cons
  • not reliable
