I recently moved into a new house. My lab bench was close enough to use standard cable. I program everything from Arduino (Atmel), 16F877A (Micro Engineering Labs) to EEPROMS. A USB to connect to my lab bench is a must. My computer desk can't handle everything a typical printer does and can't. Data transmission is well suited for programming. The outside insulation is really good. I attached it to the ceiling between the tiles with velcro. This cable will not kink unless you really try or in industrial settings such as PLC automated production lines or stage setups where the cables are constantly moving for different sound booths.
