I was keen to replace the relatively hot C7 bulbs in our custom "electric" window candles with LEDs. I bought the Sylvania brand as well as other branded LEDs which came in a wider range of colours. Sylvania is fine; However, the bottle is not covered in frost as described by Revain, it is a slightly cloudy, almost translucent plastic. The three LED elements are clearly visible. It's billed as "daylight" but has the blue-white hue typical of LEDs, though not as harsh as some. LEDs last much longer than incandescent bulbs and are naturally pleasant to the touch. None of the LEDs, Sylvania or other models, show any measurable output on the Kill A Watt P4400 meter, while the standard C7 lamp shows 12 watts. Buying Sylvania bulbs should be based largely on price and a preference for the simple, untextured bulb finish over the diamond pattern found on other manufacturers' bulbs. I definitely prefer the Sylvania bulb for night lighting.
