Card reader not working out of the box with USB 3.0? Check your USB 3.0 drivers!

The memory worked correctly when delivered, but the card reader was not recognized. After a few minutes with tech support, we proved that it works on my laptop. Everything I have works on my desktop except this damn card reader. After a few minutes, tech support raised their hand and said we'd send you a replacement. I was personally curious as to why this didn't work on 3.0 when everything else worked. Although Windows 7 reported that the device drivers installed correctly and worked properly, I decided to reinstall the drivers from the motherboard CD. I did just that, and voila, it's fully working on USB 3.0. Lesson learned: Don't be afraid to reinstall drivers even if Windows says they're good.
