I love these for why I bought them. I needed a cheap, comfortable shoe for lots of walking. My last pair of cheap shoes were skate shoes and I blew out the heels in 4 months. The soles on these are simple, thick rubber and should last for a while. That said, I wouldn't run in them.They aren't designed like most running shoes, with a tongue up the middle under the laces. Instead, the body of the shoe is all one piece of fabric sewn to the soles, almost like a bag for your foot. It's a bit like an old fashioned turn-shoe. The laces are just there to tighten it, and won't make it tight enough for me to feel comfortable running in these for a long time.
