We washed them in the top of our dishwasher as per the description but two of the four cups had the bottoms coming off due to lack of glue gotta hold it. I have 6 children. I wouldn't buy them if I couldn't wash them in the dishwasher. I found a bottom and glued it with super glue. I doubt it will last, but we'll see. The other cup just has to look ugly because we can't find the bottom. Besides, we love them. They retain heat and cold, and you won't burn your hands if you pour hot water inside like ceramics. They have a beautiful design and finish. We bought 3 colors and the red ones were the only ones that had the bottoms torn off. I'm not sure if this affects performance. This definitely affects the look!
