This blanket fitted my son when he was 2-3 months old. He liked watching the toys hanging above him, especially the red rattle. As he got older and could reach the toys, he became very interested in them. He was also a fan of the carpet's colorful pattern, which amused him lying on his stomach. However, this mat becomes useless when the child is old enough to ride. The sides allow the baby to bump and fold the mat easily. And there isn't much room to move around. This rug is also incredibly thin so I would not recommend a child lying on it for very long. If I could go back I would spend a little more money to get a higher quality product that my child can use for longer.
