I usually do not review a product until I have owned it for months or years. This surge protector has a compact design and is slightly smaller than my previous surge protector which lasted me 22 years (1997-2019). I hope I'm getting closer to those years of service with this one. It works as advertised and gives a 3 minute and 1 maybe 2 second delay before power is passed through the device to your fridge. The main disadvantage of this unit is the "slanted socket" design which does not allow my plug to sit flush and fully insert into the mains filter (which can be dangerous for people, especially children - SEE PHOTO). I will update the shelf life information over time, but unfortunately I don't recommend this unless you have the 'old style'. ' keep your mouth shut. Right angle plugs may NOT work properly with this device.
