The seat is hard but looks like it will adapt to your needs over time. However, it is firm and you may need a chair cushion such as gel or silicone mesh. I still like the seat more than the traditional chair seat. They're often a foam pillow that feels great at first, but deflates to a thin slab of nothing within the first year. The lumbar support was easy to adjust to each person's optimal height. The mesh is designed to prevent heat from building up between the backrest and the chair, so the backrest is the same temperature as the room. The armrests are easy to adjust for each person. The legs have five spindles, which is the most stable arrangement. Wheels roll well, great chair.
