Review on Brown Series 1 Men's Electric Shaver 190s-1 (Body Only) - Ultimate SEO-Optimized Grooming Device by Anthony Lowery

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Pretty fair deal on sale for 39.00

In the late 80's I owned one of the Braun 2000 series razors. God this thing can give you a close shave. I think they were still made in Germany back then. I have used this shaver for many years, at some point the internal on/off switch wore out otherwise I would have kept it. POSTPONED TO AUGUST 2019: A sense of nostalgia. but in no case do I want to spend more than 100€ for a razor. Wet/dry razor gizmotron. I'm buying this Braun Series 1 190s-1 HTRC3 on sale for $39 with free prime shipping. GOOD: Ergonomic, feels good in my hand. (I have big hands but not the biggest, I can reach 10 on the piano). It's relatively cheap. It's a wired/wireless battery, but I mostly use it plugged in. (I suppose a battery operated part would come in handy on trips to the beach.) You're half asleep or on your day off and not paying much attention to it. You just want to "manage" your stubble and start your day. The sideburn trimmer works well. It's easy enough to clean. The plastic clasp on the blade guard works much better than my old Braun foil cap from the 80's. NO SHAVING. You don't have to spend money on shaving cream or regular razor blades. THE BAD: It doesn't cut 1-2 day stubble as aggressively. Heck, even with 3/4 day stubble. With this razor you can completely shave your beard. You'll "get there" but you'll have to use all your tricks (like tapping, shaving, stretching the jaw, etc.) and doing about 3 passes - especially under the neck. You end up feeling like you're getting an electric facial massage while trying to complete a good shave. As with any shave, you're much better off if you've just got out of the shower and dampened your hair/beard stubble. WARNINGS FOR THIS REVIEW: To be honest, I don't use L'ectric Shave skin patches. etc. lotions and potions that might help my cause. I don't have fine hair. This review is about how to use this Braun Cold Turkey razor - turn it on, start shaving, what does it do? Yes, I know it takes all that facial movement to show the stubble to get a proper shave. It's made in China but I expect it. I would have had a heart attack if they stopped making $40 razors in Germany. The point in China is which factory quality (and quality control) evaluates that of the manufacturer. MY EXPERIENCE AND RESULTS I GET WITH THIS RAZOR: I use it, it takes a lot of time. I estimate it takes about 8 minutes to get a good, satisfying "presentable" shave. It gets me there, but I don't particularly enjoy the time I have to devote to it. My "old" Made in Germany Braun from the year 2000 blew him away a long time ago. I'm sure there are better electric shavers out there than this Series 1 - 190. This is it. This is El Chipo. Ease of use/attractiveness as an owner. 3.0 stars. Value for money at $39.00. Wow these 4 stars. I don't know of any other decent branded mesh razor that sells for $40. This model is probably the latest in the Braun line of razors. The shaver is better built and more powerful than any of those compact "travel" foil shavers that run on 2 AA (or AAA) batteries (I have a couple of these for camping, an office desk to touch up when needed etc.) . Don't shave at my desk, that would be QUIET! don't be that guy, okay? :) PUTTING THINGS IN PERSPECTIVE: If this ever ends up in a lightning deal - say $25.00 - I would consider it a GREAT DEAL. At $20.00 that would be STEALING. At $39.00 with free Prime shipping, it was a "fair price". When it costs $46.00 and up, it becomes less attractive as a value proposition. I would never pay 50.00 for this razor.
