Review on Aqueon LED Aquarium Light Fixture: Illuminating Your Underwater World with Spectacular Brilliance by Amy Lucero

I have been using fluorescent tubes for my aquariums for many years. This was my first LED light and I have no intention of going back to fluorescent lighting. Light quality is excellent, quiet (no hum) and my live plants are thriving. This light holds up to three LED tubes, so you can easily adjust the amount of light you need to suit your needs. I have a freshwater tank with live plants so I use 3 hoses and am not complaining. The evening setting includes 4 separate blue LEDs, which is a good effect at night. Other reviewers have mentioned that the 3-position power button (on/off/night) disables using the timer to switch from day to night, which is true. The timer lets you turn it on or off, meaning you can't automatically switch to night mode without reconnecting the device, which of course will affect your warranty. Let me tell you something about Aqueon: after using this device for 3 years. all three of my LED tubes started blinking like strobe lights. I turned it off and started with Google. Some posts have suggested replacing the PSU. I ordered and connected a universal power supply of the same type. Same problem with flashing. Knowing the bulbs had capacitors and suspecting that the surge had fried my bulbs, I ordered a new bulb. Same problem! What to do. I went to the Aqueon website and sent the manufacturer a "Contact Us" message. Remember that this lamp is 3 years old. What happened? They said "sorry, out of warranty, very bad, buy another one." no no no. I received a PERSONAL call saying they would send a new power supply. If that doesn't work, please send them in for troubleshooting. Today I received the power pack, the device works perfectly again. Who is behind your product today? Kudos to Aqueon and Central Garden and Pet. Get this mount! You will not regret it. Edit added March 2021 - can't believe I have the same fixture from 2013! The power supply that Aqueon sent me in 2016 still works great and the LED tubes still work well (I've no doubt had some dimming over the past few years, but not enough to make a difference in my aquarium). 5 stars across the board! And not a single fluorescent or incandescent light bulb has been sent to landfill in 8 years. sweet very sweet
