NOT happy with this purchase

I just gave this jar as a Christmas present but when my daughter opened it she found 1) a hairline crack going all the way down one side and 2) a broken one Lid. I do Christmas shopping all year round so I purchased this item in September. Because of this I have no way of returning it as the return period has expired. I've learned not to shop so early (although I'm happy to pay if I shop year-round) and realized I need to open and check the box as soon as it arrives. It's very cheaply made and very fragile, too fragile for dog treats. I had to buy her another one and throw this one away. NOT very happy.
