Review on Stylish and Sustainable: Vera Bradley's Recycled πŸ‘œ Utility Climbing Women's Handbags & Wallets for Shoulder Bags by Amy Kearse

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Sturdy, thickly lined bag made of beautiful cotton (light orchid + beautiful print).

Update: The review below is for the 'rich orchids' version of this bag which I think is a very summery color. I also have this bag in climbing green ivy which is even more versatile. The color is bright and works all year round. The fabric pattern lining the bag is an absolutely gorgeous black and white floral print. First review: This is a very attractive, very large tote with lots of pockets to hold all my essentials. I ordered this bag in rich orchid which is very bright and cheerful + completely different from anything else I own. The bag is thickly lined - even more so than the much larger weekend bags and travel bags from the quilted range. The bag is a bit heavy even when empty, so I think it will be easy to recharge. The bag is well designed and made from quality materials. The seams are even, all seams are even and neat. The recycled cotton used for the outside is finely textured, soft to the touch yet durable and has a beautiful sheen. All pockets are thickly lined and there are quite a few of them. On the outside of the back there is a very large full length slip pocket on the back of the bag with magnetic closure, a full length deep slip pocket on each side (one with locking buckle strap) and a 13" x 8" front pocket with zip closure two small inner patch pockets and two pockets above, one with magnetic closure + button. There are two small patch pockets in the zip pocket. The main compartment closes with a zip and there is a large zip pocket on the inside. All zippers are nylon with metal pull tabs and tape extenders and work smoothly. Cotton lining with beautiful floral print in matching color. The shoulder straps are padded and firmly sewn to the body of the bag. Also included is a detachable shoulder strap in the form of a webbing that attaches to the fabric loops on each side of the bag with metal twist locks (matching colour). Overall this is a well designed bag with lots of features to help me stay organized and it's perfect for travel or just a day trip. At its current price of $120, this bag is quite expensive, but it's also well-made and very durable; there's nothing wrong with that. Anyway, it's remodeled and I'd say it's worth buying for those who need a large and durable tote.

Pros
  • Gorgeous construction
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
