Review on 🧳 Parker Safety Razor, 4 Piece Travel Safety Razor & Leather Case - An Exceptional Choice for Travel and Everyday Grooming! by Becky Burnett

Much better than expected!

Ordered before reading reviews. After reading them I was sure I had made a big mistake. The biggest problem was that it was an AGGRESSIVE razor and not a soft one. No place to carry blades. The skin is brown instead of black (exactly what the description says; do people really not READ descriptions, just berate products because they can't read?) Those seem to have been the top three flaws. When it arrived I opened it with great trepidation, I'm sure I won't like it. I was prepared for the worst but this razor was AWESOME! The leather case was much better quality than expected and a nice old school brown. Inside were razor parts; The head was individually wrapped to keep it nice during transit. There were a few stains (probably oil or shipping wax) on the razor cap which I immediately wiped away with my thumb. The razor assembles like a quality tool and everything is lined up correctly with no signs of misalignment or a sloppy fit. There were dividers in the bag to separate the parts when packing. There was plenty of room to add some wrapped blades. After assembling the razor, I inserted a "medium aggressiveness" blade (Wilkinson Sword, India) and performed a test shave. After reading how incredibly AGGRESSIVE it was, I was certain that trying to tame this wild, wild razor would cut me to pieces and potentially fatally injure me! nope It was a cat. Half of the handle is solid metal and the other half is hollow. This gives it a heavy balance which I think is perfect for this razor (let the razor do all the work and not put pressure that causes cuts and scrapes). It felt and sounded just like my Gillette Super-Speed or my Vintage Gillette Tech (both are known as "soft" razors). I can't understand how so many reviews can be so incredibly misleading. or fundamentally wrong! Use a soft blade (Derby, Lord, Personna Red, Astra), you will get a smooth shave; Use an aggressive blade (Feather, Gillette Platinum, Kai) for an aggressive shave. If you are new to DE shaving, try different blades to get the shave you want (if you are NOT new to DE shaving then I preach to the choir). It has ENOUGH space to pack enough blades for a long trip or vacation. A bag made of rich brown leather adds a touch of elegance and sophistication. Throw this, a small travel brush and a tube of Proraso cream in your travel kit and I'm ready to go! (I prefer a travel brush and cream to lather my face on the go, a large badger brush and soap to lather up in a bowl at home.) Due to the size and weight of the handle, I completely forgot I was using a travel razor. I shaved! Feels (and looks) like a full-length DE razor. I see how this can be mistaken for (and used as) a daily razor for anything other than travel. Would I trade my Rockwell 6S for this shaver? No chance. But it's not a $100 razor either! If my luggage goes to Kathmandu, I only lose 30 dollars. This is a well made little kit at a reasonable price that gives a GREAT shave. and it's cool.
