My son avoided it the first time we used it.
Had high hopes for it. We love making fires and our 3 year old enjoys watching too. He's also running straight for the fire, so he was hoping that would help him be curious and reassure us. Well, he moved his hands, threw it and threw it over his head. Lol maybe if your kid isn't that determined it will work.
