Review on 💡 Lid Lock Up Eyeshadow Primer: COVERGIRL's Clear-Solution for Long-lasting Eye Makeup (0.06 Pound) by Matthew Bowman

I've been trying this primer for a few months now and it's going to be one of my favorites! For reference, I've also used these eyeshadow primers extensively: Milani, Urban Decay Primer Potion, Wet n' Wild Photofocus, and Lorac. The Cover Girl foundation has a stickier/tackier texture than others I've tried, dries and applies with a stick applicator. This is by far the most durable and smudge proof foundation I have ever used! As well as testing it on my eyes for everyday use, I also put some on my arm, applied eye shadow over it, let it dry and then tried to wipe it off. It didn't leave my hand even after rubbing vigorously with a towel and washing with soap and water! Below I've outlined the best uses for this product: - Due to the stickiness of the formula, it can act almost like glitter glue and pop metallic and shimmery eyeshadows. If this is your desired look, I find it best to apply the eyeshadow about 15 seconds after applying the primer, before it has had time to fully set and still be tacky. Then apply metallic or shimmery shadows with a flat brush or your finger. If you want to create a more blended eyeshadow look, you need to let the primer dry a bit and set it with translucent/nude powder first. I've found that if I don't follow these two steps properly, your brush and eyeshadow can slip across your eyelid, resulting in a somewhat blotchy look. This is the only issue I have had with this product but it can be avoided with a little practice and well worth it for the longevity of the product. I've been trying to think of ways to compare this to other primers I've tried, but I really can't! This is a unique product that definitely deserves attention. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is a possible disappointment some might have from having to set the product before applying eyeshadow, but I had no problems with it after realizing it installed first must become.
