This watch has a large, legible display showing the day, date and time, and the face lights up when you press the right button. That's this watch for me. Other thoughts: The display has a gold tint (there are other versions of this watch here with gray displays if you prefer). Alarm clocks are not audible (you have to bring the clock to your face to hear them). If you think you'll need to reset the time one day, don't lose the manual, or at least put it on your favorites wherever it's online. I have another Casio with a 10 year battery and can say that the battery life is pretty good (their beep isn't audible either, by the way).
