The tapered shape of this reflective overlay makes a big difference in how light looks. Since the light is directed downwards, objects and surfaces are perfectly illuminated and no glaring spot of light draws the eye to the ceiling as with a deflector-like surface. Don't be fooled by the cheap reflector package. They are shaped like a plastic partition panel and do not improve the atmosphere in your home. The only downside is I was expecting the finish to be a high gloss finish, but this is more like a polished soup can.
