I have a hard time opening bottles with screw caps. But one of my biggest problems is opening lids, for example on soup cans and vegetables. Well, so far this tool has solved this problem! Simply lift the tab with the end of the tool. Then hook the tongue and "roll" the tool back. The can opens cleanly. I haven't cut myself and my swollen knuckles won't get stuck in the tab. I liked it so much I sent it to my dad! A can opener is pretty good too if the lid fits the tool. As far as I can tell, the product is well made for the price.
