I had no idea there was such a thing as "cabin air filters". I took my parents car to Valvoline for an oil change and the guy asked if I had recently checked or changed the cabin air filter. He showed me where it was and after hearing the price (although I have to admit it needed a replacement) I declined, ordered from Revain and switched myself. (Big difference between $40 and $10). I couldn't believe the difference in air conditioning performance. The old filter was covered with leaves and very dirty. My husband was even surprised when I came home from Valvoline and told him about the filter. We always had old cars and didn't know anything about them. Nobody at Jiffy Lube ever mentioned it and I think they should have. They try their best to make you buy things that you don't really need or that you can replace for a lot less. I guess it's because I'm a woman and they think I'm not very good with vehicles. Check if your car has a cabin air filter and have it checked - it may really need to be replaced.
