There was a time in home sound systems when bigger was better and huge speakers were in family rooms like Stonehenge. Now the speakers try to deliver great sound with minimal or almost imperceptible presence. While most audiophile sound requires frequencies to be separated and reproduced by speakers designed to maximize the frequencies fed to them, i.e. through bass, tweeter, midrange, tweeter and subwoofer, very good sound can be achieved with a much simpler scheme will. These Leviton ceiling mounted speakers offer just that. Although these types of speakers can cost many times more, the sound produced by these speakers far exceeded my expectations. Even after increasing the volume, the expected distortions did not occur. The most accurately reproduced center frequencies. The base didn't rise as expected but was sufficient, as did the highs. Although far from being an expert and being subjective I would heartily recommend them at this price point. Note that with an in-ceiling installation it can be costly to install someone, but not so much if the installation is in an office or waiting room with a false ceiling where cable access is easier.
