Review on ๐Ÿ”Š Renewed JBL LIVE 500BT Over-the-Ear Headphones in Black - JBLLIVE500BTBLKAM by Ada Nadolna แ Œ

Revainrating 3 out of 5

I expected more from buying, but not the worst option.

I did not like the touch button of the voice assistant on the left "ear". It's good that it's easy to disable through the official app. In my opinion, it would be more appropriate to bring quick track switching to the left ear (instead of holding the volume buttons). However, this is subjective. After about a month of operation, the leatherette came off on the inside of one ear cushion. I thought that it didnโ€™t make sense to carry it. Essentially mechanical damage. An attempt to glue it โ€œin placeโ€ without disassembly was unsuccessful - itโ€™s difficult to crawl, but itโ€™s very easy to smear the inside with glue. Fortunately, the ear pad turned out to be removable - it is held on by six plastic latches, to remove it, it is enough to gently pry from the outside into the joint between the leatherette and plastic (see photo). So, the ear pad consists of the following parts: - black plastic base - fabric glued on it (which is with the letter L or R) - a transparent plastic ring glued to the base over the fabric - foam rubber - leatherette shell, glued inside out from the inner edge to the transparent plastic ring (this connection has come apart), and from the outside - inside out along the perimeter to the base I decided that in order to properly glue the leatherette to the ring, I would have to rip up the entire ear cushion, which I did: I carefully tore the leatherette from the ring and from the base, then tore the ring from the base with the fabric. Then I glued it with ordinary โ€œmomentโ€ glue (not colorless cyacrine, but yellow viscous) in the following order: 1. the inner edge of the leatherette inside out to the plastic ring 2. plastic ring to the base on top of the fabric, at this stage we look so that the seam of the shell is on the same side where a recess is provided on the base for it (an arrow is also drawn there) - when the glue in the joints (1) and (2) dried up, put on the foam rubber, wrapped the leatherette around it 3. the outer edge of the leatherette inside out to the base A month later, the second ear cushion was glued in the same way. Repeated the above with him.

Pros
  • - sound (but I'm not the owner of a sensitive audiophile ear, if that) โ€“ fairly large, comfortable soft ear cushions - comfortable headband, well presses the ear pads, but does not press โ€“ battery capacity (although I donโ€™t know how quickly it will lose capacity over time) - the ability to connect by wire (regular jack)
Cons
  • - sometimes the signal disappears for a moment (usually on the street, about once every two trips home - work) - after a month of operation, the leatherette came off on the inside of one ear cushion, after another month - in the same way from the second - a manufacturing defect: the glue was applied with an offset from the place of gluing, see photo and commentary; of course, it is re-glued without problems, but itโ€™s still unpleasant to be left without headphones while the glue dries; however, perhaps this is a problem specifically for my copy โ€“ Wireless connection does not work when charging; the disadvantage is partially offset by the fact that you can listen by connecting via a wire - the ambient aware function becomes absolutely useless with any decent wind, noise and whistle drown out music and ambient sounds

Got pros: Easy to use, perfectly paired with the phone. Good sound. The charge lasts a very long time. Has some cons Terrible built-in microphone (but the microphone is excellent on the wire). The bass is a bit lacking in my opinion.
